eSight glasses sets a new standard for enhanced vision technology by providing even greater visual clarity, a more versatile hardware design to enable unprecedented mobility and all-day use, and incorporating new advanced cloud-based capabilities and mobile apps.

eSight 4 Low Vision Glasses builds upon the success of eSight 3, which was named one of TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions.

Since that time, thousands of users have joined eSight’s community living with visual acuities from 20/60 to 20/1400 (perfect vision is 20/20) caused by more than 20 different eye conditions including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, Stargardt’s disease, and other vision-related challenges.

eSight Glasses have been the most versatile low vision device on the market for over 13 years. eSight’s clinically validated technology is used daily by thousands of people with over 20 different eye conditions causing visual acuity from 20/60 to 20/1400.

Taking sight enhancement to a new level, the eSight 4 Glasses provide visual acuity, unmatched mobility, and ease of use through new mobile and cloud-based capabilities.

With its visual acuity and unmatched mobility, eSight provides ease of use through new mobile and cloud-based capabilities.

The vision-enhancing technology built into eSight glasses works by stimulating the remaining synaptic activity in the user’s eyes to provide the brain with increased visual information.

Using the same clinically validated principles, eSight 4 incorporates extensive research and feedback from users to bring new advancements in three key areas to improve vision-related capabilities:

  1. Greater Visual Acuity: The new eSight 4 Low Vision Glasses combines the best-matched camera, lens, and screens that are backed by powerful custom software so the user can see more clearly and in greater detail.
    • More powerful software capabilities include improved auto-focus, applauded by early wearers, and 2x the maximum brightness.
    • Advanced controls continue to allow wearers to take control of their vision with 24X zoom, focus, and contrast, but now also include custom viewing modes.
    • Two high-resolution screens (1280×960) for a full binocular vision that integrates with the user’s own prescription lenses to enable even greater visual clarity.
  2. New Hardware Design for Greater Mobility: eSight 4 Glasses is the most mobile and versatile device that moves seamlessly with the wearer’s lifestyle whether reading or out on the go.
    • Wireless and hands-free, the eSight glasses head-mounted device includes easy-to-use built-in controls for true freedom and active living.
    • Thoughtfully designed, the eSight 4 halo band with an easy-swap back battery perfectly distributes the weight for all-day comfort and use.
    • eSight 4 maintains its patented bioptic tilt feature which allows users to see what’s in front of them using eSight, and maintain what’s around them using their remaining peripheral vision.
  3. Now Cloud-Based with New Mobile Apps: Leveraging the best of today’s digital possibilities, eSight 4 provides advanced capabilities in terms of community, support, entertainment, and connectivity.
    • An eSight exclusive feature shared accounts allow users to invite loved ones, or eSight support, to securely see what they see and help customize their experience.
    • Using the mobile app, users can view their mobile screen on their eSight where they can freeze and zoom to see the details, watch video streaming on their phone on their eSight, and save and share photos and videos captured on their eSight to the user’s mobile device.

How does eSight work?

eSight’s low vision aid provides a non-invasive, non-surgical solution that works by stimulating synaptic activity from the remaining photoreceptor function in the user’s eyes to provide increased visual information to the brain. The streamlined design incorporates the patient’s natural peripheral vision and includes a patented Bioptic Tilt: tilt down for maximum enhanced vision and up to connect face to face or to access their natural vision when navigating new places.

eSight 4 can help with a range of vision conditions

From Macular Degeneration to Stargardt disease to ocular albinism, eSight 4 next generation is used by many people living with different kinds of visual impairments.

Learn about how eSight 4 helps common vision conditions:

Macular Degeneration

eSight greatly magnifies what is in front of you, enough to provide enough stimulus to let you see far more clearly, while also reducing eye strain.

Stargardt Disease

eSight brings the image of what you’re looking at closer, which provides enough stimulus to the eye to be able to see with more clarity and detail.

Retinopathy of Prematurity

eSight’s ability to magnify and various lighting features help you enhance far distances and adjust to environments with different lighting conditions.

Ocular Albinism

eSight has a high success rate with people experiencing ocular albinism. Advanced algorithms allow you to see in finer detail and with less strain on your eye, and the close images help with nystagmus. eSight has luminance and contrast settings to help with light sensitivity.

Optic Nerve Hypoplasia

eSight’s ability to magnify what is in front of you makes it particularly well-suited for Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. The ability to adjust brightness and contrast on the headset can also help significantly with light sensitivity.

Cone-Rod Dystrophy

eSight lets you adjust the brightness and luminance of the display, which can help with light sensitivity. Adjusting contrast may also help you distinguish between shades and assist with night vision.

Diabetic Retinopathy

eSight brings the image of what is in front of you closer, allowing you to see greater detail with less eye strain. The greater contrast can also help clear up some blind spots, also known as floaters.

Glaucoma

eSight tends to work best with open-angle glaucoma. The advanced algorithms contain color functionalities to help with your loss of contrast. Since each individual eye condition is unique, we recommend trying eSight to confirm if it works for you.

Retinal Detachment

eSight’s ability to magnify can often allow people with a retinal detachment to see more clearly and with more detail and to clear up any blind spots or floaters. Success with retinal detachment varies so we recommend testing out the device to see if it will work for you.

Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP)

eSight works best with reverse retinitis pigmentosa as the device relies on your peripheral vision. Since each individual eye condition is unique, we recommend testing the device to confirm if it will work for you.

Optic Atrophy

eSight magnifies what is in front of you, letting you see with more clarity and detail and with less strain on your eyes. eSight can also brighten and make colors more vivid.

20+ eye conditions

eSight has helped more than 20 additional eye conditions from Keratoconus, optic neuropathy, macular dystrophy, and more. Since each individual eye condition is unique, we recommend you get in touch with one of our advisors to see if eSight could be a great fit for you.

Success Spotlight

Diagnosed with Stargardt’s disease at age 6, Leah knew of vision loss early on and adapted her life to this fact.

She took the bus when possible, never went to the store alone, and relied on her family to read labels. The first time she tried the eSight, this changed.

With her vision enhanced to 20/20, she was able to navigate the aisles of stores, see signs from far away, learn advanced knitting techniques, and more significant improvements to activities in her life. Above all that, using the eSight’s zoom feature, Leah was able to see her son receive his diploma at his high school graduation ceremony.

Tech Tip

  • Did you know eSight has a freeze-frame option? You can pause the camera image by clicking the grey circle at the center of the remote control. This is extremely useful when reading menus, books, music sheets and more because you can zoom in or increase contrast on a frozen image.
  • Convenient Device Control – The eSight mobile app has all the control of the device in a convenient app. Download and pair to your eSight device. <Click here to download the app from the Apple App Store>
    • <Click here to download the app from Google Play>

Trusted by Low Vision Experts

The eSight technological approach has been clinically validated by six leading low vision research and rehabilitation institutes. The study showed that eSight improves distance acuity, reading performance, contrast sensitivity, facial recognition, and ADLs (Activities of Daily Living). Specifically, it demonstrated a seven-live gain in distance acuity, 100% mobility retention, and a 12-letter contrast improvement.

  • “eSight removes the traditional barriers people living with low vision face. Significantly enhancing sight while retaining mobility, eSight makes it possible for people with legal blindness to advance in all levels of school, achieve their professional goals, and more easily participate in society. -Dr. Scott Gartner, Low Vision Specialist, Lighthouses for the Blind, Palm Beaches and Miami
  • “eSight provides an unprecedented improvement in a number of visual performance measures. More importantly, wearers experience much improved day-to-day visual ability when using eSight. This device has a substantial impact on the lives of many people with severe vision loss.”‍ -Dr. Gislin Dagnelie, MS, John Hopkins Medicine Health Network

      Compliance status

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.

To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.

This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.

Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML, adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.

If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email

      Screen-reader and keyboard navigation

Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, alongside console screenshots of code examples:

      1. Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.

These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.

      2. Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside it.

Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Disability profiles supported in our website

      • Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
      • Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
      • Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
      • ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
      • Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
      • Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments

      1. Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
      2. Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over seven different coloring options.
      3. Animations – person with epilepsy can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
      4. Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
      5. Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
      6. Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
      7. Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

      Browser and assistive technology compatibility

We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers).

      Notes, comments, and feedback

Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their needs. There may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and features, and developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. For any assistance, please reach out to
